PMP – Prague Music Performance Institute & Festival was founded in 2011 by Czech pianist Jan Bartoš as a platform bringing together distinctive voices from classical, jazz, and experimental music. It focuses on projects that cross established genre and institutional boundaries.
From the outset, PMP has developed along two main lines: the Festival, focused on concerts, premieres, and interdisciplinary projects, and the Institute, focused on education, artistic residencies, long-term collaborations, and publishing.

Artists presented by PMP include John Zorn, Kronos Quartet, Anthony Braxton, Roscoe Mitchell, Brad Mehldau, Esperanza Spalding, Thurston Moore, Einstürzende Neubauten, David Thomas, Garth Knox, Quatuor Diotima, Barry Guy, Uri Caine, Adrian Belew, Marc Ribot and Mary Halvorson.
The Institute has worked with artists including Alfred Brendel, Murray Perahia, Leon Fleisher, Ivan Moravec, Michele Campanella, Tamás Vásáry, Anthony Braxton and Roland Dahinden.
PMP also collaborates with other cultural institutions and festivals, among them the International Music Institute Darmstadt, the Tri-Centric Foundation in New York, the Czech Philharmonic, the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, the National Film Archive and the Prague Spring International Music Festival.
